NCPLH from dhtraining.com
Since 2003 it has become law for certain alcohol sellers to hold a national certificate for personal license holders (NCPLH). Anyone that is authorising the sale or supply of alcohol will need to hold one of these certificates. The license is both government approved and qualifications and curriculum authority accredited.
In order to get this qualification you will need to pass a short test to prove your knowledge in a number of areas. Areas that you will need to prove you know about include:
* Overview of licensing & authorities
* Operating schedules
* Unallowed licensed activities
* License activities that are allowed
* Duties that you are required to undertake
* How to deal with disorderly conduct
* Rights of entry
These are just a few of the areas that you are required to know about and to show that you know about on the test that you undertake
The great thing about studying for this license is that you can choose how to do it. There are different ways that you can study for this which means you can learn in a way that suits you. There are class room, teacher led lessons which covers everything that you should need to know. If you don’t feel that classroom training is for you then you can sign up to home studying and learn from the comfort of your own home. Either way you can learn exactly what you need to know in order to pass the test.
The test itself has a time limit of 60 minutes and a total of 40 questions. In order to pass you must get at least 28 questions correctly. You should expect to receive your results within 7 working days of you sitting your test. If you are unlucky enough not to pass the test then you will need to arrange a re-sit at your earliest convenience.
It is law for you to have one of these NCPLH certificates if you are authorising the sale of alcohol. In fact if you are planning to get into the pub industry it could be worthwhile getting one of these licenses as it is a great qualification to list on your CV.
